Devotions & Bible Studies for Adults

Photo by Erik M. Lunsford/The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

Devotions and Bible studies for individuals provide opportunities for us to stay in God’s Word during the course of our daily lives. These resources are not meant to replace the gathering of God’s people around Word and Sacrament in the Divine Service and group Bible studies. Instead, they are intended to supplement and complement those gatherings. The devotions and Bible studies listed below were specifically produced for use by adults.

Daily Bible Readings for 2021 to 2023

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod joined with the Lutheran Church—Canada and the North American Lutheran Church to compile a three-year plan of daily Bible readings and a year-long series of weekly readings on Martin Luther’s approach to the Scriptures.

A Life With God

This website is a deep dive into the Bible through the teachings of the late Rev. Henry F. Fingerlin. The study is made up of sixteen chapters and includes a downloadable workbook and audio recordings of Pastor Fingerlin’s extensive presentations of the material. The website is set up for individuals to work through the materials independently, though they could also be used in groups.
