Resources for Educators

The LCMS School Ministry office provides Lutheran educational ministries with resources to assist with the mission of sharing the Gospel in schools and their communities. Resources are created annually to support educators and others in ministry who are working with students in early childhood through high school programs.

LuthEd.org is the online presence and resource repository of the LCMS School Ministry office. It replaced the historic Lutheran School Portal in 2016 and contains information related to all School Ministry publications, documentation for the NLSA, SLED, and LSCS programs, school statistical information, administrative resources and many additional resources for individuals serving in Lutheran education.

Key resources for Lutheran school teachers are the annual Chapel Talks and National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) documents, both of which align with the annual School Ministry theme. Additionally, monthly School Ministry Mailing articles cover topics and subjects for all levels of Lutheran educators.

Additionally, a growing community of “people who work with Lutheran education” can be found on the #LuthEd Facebook group. With over 6,000 members, this group is a vibrant community where any and all questions about Lutheran education can be quickly answered by educators just like you!

LuthEd

LuthEd.org is the online presence and resource repository of the LCMS School Ministry office. It replaced the historic Lutheran School Portal in 2016 and contains information related to all School Ministry publications, documentation for the NLSA, SLED, and LSCS programs, school statistical information, administrative resources and many additional resources for individuals serving in Lutheran education.

Chapel Talks

“Chapel Talks for Lutheran Schools” contains 45 weekly resources for individuals tasked with leading weekly chapel services to students of all ages in Lutheran and Christian schools. Bible verses, weekly hymns and speaking points make up only a portion of the great content of the annual Chapel Talks document!

National Lutheran Schools Week

National Lutheran Schools Week provides the network of over 1,800 LCMS preschools, elementary schools and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work in Lutheran schools. In this, Lutheran schools thank God for the opportunity to provide excellent academic preparation for the children they serve and for the opportunity to share Jesus’ amazing love with students and their families. National Lutheran Schools Week gives schools the ability to proclaim these great blessings within the communities they serve. Lutheran schools are amazing incubators for faithful witness of God’s love through Christ by teachers and students alike.

School Ministry Mailing

The School Ministry Mailing, consisting of articles published monthly September through May, offers excellent resources and ideas for administrators, directors, pastors, teachers, board members and parents of Lutheran schools.  Each article focuses in on a specific topic relevant to the overall annual School Ministry theme.
