Exciting things happen on a Mission Trip: houses get built; people worship and sing; children get hugs; people make new friends; the Gospel of Jesus Christ is spoken in word and deed; and people come away having learned something new about themselves and others. The Mission Trip experience provides participants the opportunity to witness the Christian faith through service in different locations nationally and internationally with new people.
Mission trips provide new experiences, not your everyday kind of routine. You may be asked to do something you’ve never done before. You will work together with others to accomplishing your tasks. You will have the opportunity to help others in what they need—not in what you think they need. You may experience firsthand the realities of other communities, cultures, and socioeconomic groups.
Mission trips are intended to touch people’s lives. You may face some very wonderful situations and some very difficult situations. If you remember this is meant as an opportunity for you to grow in faith and an opportunity for God’s love to be shared in words and actions, then each situation will be a blessing to you and those you serve.
